Expedia.co.nz wins New Zealand travel awards
The world’s largest online travel company, Expedia.co.nz, has been voted by industry peers as the best Online Travel Company of the Year at the recent Travel Digest 2011 Industry Awards.
Expedia.co.nz was recognised as the best of the best in the New Zealand travel industry, based on a potential 6,000[1]industry reader nominations.
The Travel Digest Industry Awards, now in its fourth yearis awarded byTravel Digest, New Zealand’s leading monthly travel industry magazine, which has been published since 1980.

They may be bitter rivals on the rugby field but Kiwis have demonstrated their fondness for Australia with 17% supporting the Wallabies as their second team and picking it as one of the rugby nations they’d most like to visit, according to the latest survey by online travel company Expedia.co.nz.
The nationwide survey* reveals that, apart from our beloved All Blacks, Kiwis would rather support their trans-Tasman rival than any other country in the Rugby World Cup.
Australia was followed closely by England (14%), Ireland (13%) and South Africa (12%), however, 25% of New Zealanders actually refused to choose another team. Read more

Every day, Kiwis share their latest news, personal opinions and photos with their Facebook ‘friends’, however when it comes to packing their bags and sharing a travel experience, Kiwis are much more selective.
To coincide with the launch of its FriendTrips Facebook competition, Expedia.co.nz asked New Zealand Facebook users*, who have an average of 130 friends**, how many of their Facebook ‘friends’ they would travel with. Almost half (49 per cent) said that they would only travel with between one and 10 per cent of their friends, which on average, is up to 13 friends. Read more
